No – once you’ve bought your share (and received your £20 off) there is no obligation to buy whatsoever. You’re free to buy as much or as little as you want, as often as you need it. 

Being part of The Wine Society means you’re more than just a customer; you become a member of an award-winning not-for-profit co-operative, so you get a share in honest prices for both you and the winemaker behind the bottle. No external shareholders mean that we answer to the needs of our members and no one else. We’re big enough to have serious clout when it comes to getting a good and fair price but small enough to scout out those under-the-radar gems our members love. 

We use the term Everyday Fair Pricing to describe our policy – as a not-for-profit we’re able to put profits back into fairer prices and we always believe in a good honest price everyday, over dubious discounts and sales (with exceptions for occasional supplier-supported savings). Our wines start at £6.25 a bottle, with plenty in ‘sweet spot’ range of £8-10 too. And if fine and rare wines are what you’re looking for, we’ve got you covered there too. 

When you join The Wine Society, you become a lifetime member, so your membership never actually expires. Simply log in with your email address and share number (our Member Services team are here to help if you don’t remember yours) and you can carrying on buying your wine as usual. 

We understand that taste is personal and sometimes there’ll be a bottle that just doesn’t work for you. Just contact our Member Services here who’ll arrange a replacement or refund. They’re also fully trained to help you find a wine you might enjoy more next time.
