Offering more than ever before
Some of my favourite chardonnay, weekday shiraz and weekend pinot is coming from this ancient continent. Sales at The Wine Society are growing, although not back up to the level of the 1990s boom.
South Australia and Victoria had good vintage conditions in 2018, without major heat spikes and avoiding rain at harvest. The Margaret River had a great vintage (as always!) with the added bonus of slightly higher yields. We introduced a new Society’s Hunter Valley Semillon, made in the youthful, fresh, light style that is gaining traction in domestic sales. It’s only 11% natural alcohol, with a dry and crisp style similar to sauvignon but with slightly more mineral and lime flavour. I hope that you will give it a try!
