"Excelent aperitif at a very reasonable price. We drink it practically every day before dinner.
I strongly recommend it

"Unanimous decision of the family tasting our first bottle of this last night - get a case! Delightful flavour which is very moreish. Without doubt the best example we have tasted in this price range. A proper family favourite which makes my job easier when ordering."
Mr Graham Irvine (20-May-2017)
"Not really a fan (up until now) of bubbly. Had this over Christmas and am a convert. We loved it and will be adding to regular orders."
Mr Dominic Lacey (10-Jan-2017)
"A jolly competent prosecco, with just the right amount of dryness, and fizz. Stacks-up very well against its similarly-priced supermarket competitors."
Mr Dan Cook (06-Oct-2016)
Mr Peter James (17-Sep-2016)
"It seems you can't go wrong with Prosecco at the moment. A fine example but it faces stiff competition at this price point. Can't say i noticed any difference in quality with the Prosecco offered by my local German discount supermarket. But then again i haven't had a naff bottle of Prosecco all Christmas, whereas I've gagged over some of the awful acidic green Champagnes of the supposed top names, and grimaced at the sweetness of supposed Brut Cava and New World fizzes."
Mr James Brown (05-Jan-2016)
"Mrs Smith will not accept anything else - stands out when compared to cheap and cheerful alternatives from the supermarkets or wine bars on their 2 for 1 Friday night deals."
Mr Chris Smith (07-Nov-2015)
"What an amazing prosecco - smooth and very clear, light and easy drinking. Now a firm favourite!"

With
lots of friends coming round to cuddle the baby, I’ve been pouring a lot of

really shone. It’s refreshing and crisp, and made me want to order a large

prosecco are grown on a steep slope in vineyards near an abbey in Treviso which
belonged to 15th century Dominican monks. Think of those romantic surroundings

"Not being keen on "fizzy wines" I wasn't keen on trying this after purchasing it for my other half. I took a sip of hers and then another, handed her the glass back and pored myself one. I will not try to describe its taste with the exception of clean and fresh. Would recommend it to any who do not normally drink Prosecco or Champagne to give it a go and you might, like me, have to change your mind."
Mr Nigel Bell (24-May-2015)
"A lovely fresh, floral sparkler with a foamy mousse. Medium sweetness which does not detract from its refreshing quality. I have served this to several people without any refusal of a top up. I am so sorry that others have found it dull. Good value."

"A disappointing absence of body and depth from this Prosecco, I have had many far better and this one is not especially good value. Sweet, fizzy and innocuous, I expected better, as a good Prosecco should be."
Mr Paul Everett (05-May-2014)
"A bit disappointed. Found the wine to be lacking in taste, body, a bit flat and not very sparkling. The Society's Cava is far better."

"A couple of sips took us unnervingly straight back to our Honeymoon on the Amalfi coast 5 years ago, and specifically a delightful restaurant called Hosteria il Pini in Praiano. Thank you Wine Society for sourcing a Prosecco that tastes of Italy."

Mr Robert Piggott (07-Oct-2012)
"Clean , crisp, fresh, and with a satisfactorily low alcohol level (so I can drink lots before I fall off my chair), this wine cheers me up whenever I have some. Don't think of it as a cheap alternative to champagne; it is a delight in its own right, the perfect aperitif."

"Would certainly recommend this fine prosecco. Having visited the prosecco region this month and wine producers including Adami...this one was singled out as being the best in the region. I do prefer the more sparkling version, however, which I understand The Wine Society will soon be replacing the frizzante with."
Ms Indira Chima (12-Apr-2012)
"I recommend it. I have used it at outdoor celebrations this summer as well as Italian theme meals and it has been very well received. In previous years there have been occasions we have gone to the expense of Champagne when it was not really necessary. This is an excellent light sparkling option for those happy occasions."

"I like Prosecco and wish someone would tell me what the wine is like, rather than moaning about the screw cap. So irritated am I that I am going to order a bottle, and when I have tried it, I will do just that."
Mr Mark Purcell (05-Apr-2011)
"Before writing my little review, I read the previous disappointing stories about the shock caused by the change to a screw-cap and began to doubt my conviction for what I intended to be a really positive review.
Of course style is important, but my experience in serving this deliciously light refreshing fizz with for me the perfect balance of sweetness and acidity, is that its appearance in the glass, bubbling away happily, immediately makes the guests feel special. It's maybe not for grand occasions, but for giving a really good start to a lunch or a dinner party (and making the host's job a lot easier with only one drink to serve!) I can think of nothing better."
Mr Simon P Sanders (17-Feb-2011)
"This was long one of our favourites, and we were prepared for the wine to be the same, but it just isn't-not so effervescent. Why didn't they just replace the round-topped cork with a flat-topped cork?"
Dr L A Holford-Strevens (30-Dec-2010)
"I had planned to serve this at a celebratory drinks party in the New Year. However I have changed my mind now, as a bottle I tried had barely any 'frizz'. I thought the screw cap would be adequate, but serving a screw cap sparkler with barely any sparkle would have added up to little cause for celebration, so I have chosen something a little more fitting for the occasion."
Mr Christopher Brown (30-Dec-2010)
"My wife and I tried a bottle of this old favourite, now sadly a victim of health and safety, it would appear. We cannot agree that the only change is in its utilitarian ugliness: our bottle was noticeably flatter than ever before. With the bubbles, much of the flavour seems to have disappeared too. We shall be returning the others."
Mr James M Long (19-Dec-2010)
"I have to say that I concur with the opinions here on the cork vs screw cap. It might seem silly, but with this wine it's as much about style as substance and the style has now been lost."
Mr Stephen Brooks (14-Dec-2010)
"With regard to Nicky Brown's reply, yes, the wine remains as good as ever. But as others have said, style matters and it is this that has been lost and replaced with a utility cap. The reason for the change turns out to be Health & Safety.
It is an unfortunate fact of life, that soon as those horrible words are used, discussion comes to an abrupt end.
May I please ask if we will soon be opening the screw cap closures from the top of plastic bottles?"
Mr Piers Beszant (07-Dec-2010)
"From Nicky Brown at The Wine Society. The problem with the natural cork was that the top was dome-shaped rather than flat. After removing the string, it was sometimes difficult to insert a corkscrew centrally through the cork. This caused pressure to the bottle neck and the potential for the neck of the bottle to crack and cut the hand of the user. It was purely a health and safety issue. As everyone seems to agree, the wine is as good as ever.
"
Miss Nicky Brown (06-Dec-2010)
"I really want to see the cork and string back - of course this Prosecco is still the best you can find but it has lost some of its style. It has gone from something beautiful to just a great drink. For me this wine has always been about celebration and sometimes what you wear counts! (Rob's wife who orders the wine!)"
Mr Rob Meakin (04-Dec-2010)
"Like Mr Jones I was about to order some for Christmas. Fortunately I have a few of the old bottles left so I will make do in the hope of a return to the cork."
Mr Peter McCall (04-Dec-2010)
"Just about to order a couple of cases for Christmas but have now decided against it; the cork and string differentiated this from any other prosecco and was often a talking point on opening a bottle. Probably still as good inside the bottle I'm sure, but I look forward (in hope) to the return of the troublesome cork and string."
Mr Ian S Jones (29-Nov-2010)
"Maybe the cork and string adds nothing to the wine - but something has been lost that requires no explanation."
Mr Mark Walker (24-Oct-2010)
"The type of closure makes no difference to me - the appearance of cork with or without wire or string/screwcap is in my view a tiny matter of style; it is the contents that matter, and this prosecco continues to be an enormous pleasure. It being a little less gassy than many sparkling wines I think adds to the enjoyment."
Dr Richard E S Gray (02-Oct-2010)
"Just goes to show that there is no accounting for taste.
Or perhaps my lack of it?
I am unable to taste any difference whatsoever between the stringed cork and the screwtop version - I spend more time drinking wine than looking at the bottle, so it's a trivial change which certainly doesn't stop me buying this great wine.
I'd be interested to know if anyone thinks the change of closure does affect the taste or quality?"
Mr Ian Evetts (26-Sep-2010)
"I too agree full heartedly with Mr Cunningham and Mr Beszant. I was so upset the other day to open up my box and find six screwtop bottles of Prosecco which has traditionally always come with its cork and string. Having ordered it many times before, I didn’t think to look at the closure type in the description. I too hope the cork and “spago” make a come back as the Prosecco itself is very, very good indeed."
Miss Jacqueline McKay (20-Sep-2010)
"I feel the same as Michael Cunningham. By removing the cork and string in favour of a screwcap, the bottle has lost it's style and gained nothing other than a common dreary appearance. Although an extremely pleasant Prosecco,I think that I'll be waiting for the return of the "difficult to remove" cork and string before ordering again."
Mr Piers Beszant (10-Sep-2010)
"Very disappointed to see that this wine now comes with a screwtop instead of the usual cork and string, which made the bottle look so attractive. I can't understand how some people found it difficult to remove the cork. The bottle with the cork and string made for a nice gift, whereas the screwtop just looks like a supermarket bottle of Prosecco. I do hope the cork comes back soon."
Mr Michael Cunningham (24-Aug-2010)
