"Pure and elegant,
taut and focused, with luscious lemon and pear, brightness and precision, this
is all about the chardonnay fruit. Good acidity and dry character, without
being austere, it has crystalline complexity with subtle salty hints on the
finish. - Jamie Goode"

"100% chardonnay,
Didier Gimonnet's aspiration for his entry NV is a cuvée with attack on the
front, roundness in the middle and crispness on the end. The singular
expression of his home village in Cuis, it is softened with reserves of the
previous year's blend, aged in magnums. The result is the quintessential
aperitif, and one of the most pristine Champagnes for its price. The
north-facing elegance of this village lets fine salt-chalk minerality sing in
harmony with crystalline acidity. - Tyson Steltzer"

"Best value wines for
Christmas and the New Year: … a brisk introduction [to blanc de blancs] that
shows complexity and depth, partly bought by judicious use of reserve wines. - Giles Fallowfield"

"Star buy: The
Gimmonets have grown vines since 1750, but started bottling their own fizz in
Cuis in the 1930’s. One of the larger growers, they own 28 hectares
making 8 different Champagnes. The key is their old vines, most over 40
years old which Didier Gimmonet says helps grape ripeness and concentrates
fruits. This is on the lighter side with crisp minerality, pure
chardonnay fruits and rich nutty finish. - Rose Murray Brown"

"The Gimonnets have
grown vines since 1750, but only started bottling their own in Cuis in 1935.
They now own a sizeable 28 hectares, making eight Champagnes. Many of the vines
are over 40 years old which Didier Gimonnet says reduces yield, increases ripeness
and concentrates fruit. Cuis Champagne is on the lighter side, but they have
crispness, minerality and pure chardonnay fruits. - Rose Murray Brown"

"This chardonnay-only
fizz is pure, linear and elegant with a core of citrus and real delicacy. It’s
one of the great bargain champagnes and a favourite of mine. - Jamie Goode"
Kent & Sussex Courier 2nd Dec 2016
"Bubbles to get the
party started. A masterful 100% Chardonnay cuvee that's full of nervy energy
with savoury pastry shop richness providing the bass notes to go with the stone
fruit, hazelnut and lemon. One of the most toothsome grower-producer Champagnes
with some real depth to it. Do not hesitate. Marvellous as an aperitif with
some amuse-bouches/gueules or to complement dim sum, raw oysters, fish and
chips, seafood, sushi or the Boxing Day curry. A true connoisseur's Champagne
and a great wine for Christmas turkey too. - James Viner"
The Observer 19th Jun 2016
"An invigorating fizz
from Pierre Gimonnet, a specialist in chardonnay (which here makes up 100% of
the blend) and one of the best of the region’s grower-producers now making
their own wines rather than selling grapes to the region’s big houses. - David Williams"

"
Clean,
floral and perfect as an aperitif.

This
grower champagne (the wine is produced by the people who grew the grapes) is
stunning value for money, offering delicate, fine toasty aromas and real
finesse. It’s made in a pure, precise style with bright citrus and
white-peach fruit. Impressive stuff.

"I love this
Champagne. It’s one I’ve enjoyed before ... It’s also stunning value for money.
Interestingly, it has ‘Chardonnay’ on the front label. I wasn’t aware that this
was allowed in Champagne, and I’m not sure the CIVC are massively keen on it.
This bottling is 72% 2011, with the balance from four vintages back to 2006.
Delicate, fine toasty notes on the nose. Real finesse, in a pure, precise style
with bright citrus and white peach fruit. This is such a pure wine with real
finesse. 93/100 Jamie Goode"
